Myanmar-Run Venue Busted for Illegal Drugs, Gambling, and Firearms in Samut Sakhon

Samut Sakhon, April 28th, 2025 — Over 200 officers from Samut Sakhon Police and related agencies raided a large entertainment complex in Samut Sakhon suspected of harboring a high number of Myanmar migrant workers.

Inside, authorities reportedly found hidden pubs, bars, karaoke venues, and VIP rooms used for drug consumption. Narcotics were discovered concealed in sofas and rooms throughout the complex. Officers also seized military-grade weapons and ammunition, and arrested individuals in possession of large quantities of methamphetamine.

The raid followed months of investigation by military intelligence and civilian networks. Authorities revealed the complex was operated by a Myanmar national and housed around 150 people.
Illegal activities uncovered included unauthorized gambling (snooker), drug dens, and illegal firearm possession.
Seized evidence included drugs, firearms, and related items. Several individuals were detained for prosecution. Preliminary checks found that staff at an on-site restaurant held valid work permits. However, immigration officers are still verifying the status of remaining residents.
