World, April 29th, 2025 — International media reported that InterNations.org, a global expat network, released its 2024 ranking of the world’s friendliest cities for expats, based on surveys of foreigners living in each location.
Respondents rated cities on how welcoming they are to foreigners, the friendliness of locals, ease of making friends, access to personal support networks, and satisfaction with social life.
Malaga, Spain, topped the list as the most expat-friendly city, followed by Mexico City, and Alicante, also in Spain. Spain claimed another spot with Valencia at number four, while Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE ranked fifth, according to InterNations.
Bangkok, Thailand, came in sixth, earning praise for its vibrant expat community and social life.
