Russian Tourists Face 10,000 Baht Fine for Breaking Phi Phi National Park Rules

Krabi, April 26th, 2025 — Atthaphon Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, revealed that authorities are taking action after tourists were seen drinking alcohol at Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park.

An investigation found that a group of Russian tourists brought alcohol on a chartered speedboat and consumed it while swimming at Pileh Lagoon. Although boat staff warned them, the tourists reportedly ignored the advice.

Officials have been ordered to locate the tourists and fine them at their accommodation. The speedboat involved is now banned from entering the park until further notice.

The group violated Section 20 of the National Park Act 2019 and related regulations, leading to a fine of 10,000 baht. A warning letter was also issued to the involved company.

Authorities emphasized that all visitors must follow park rules, and accommodations hosting the tourists have been asked to ensure they pay the fine. Atthaphon stated this case will serve as a warning to others.
