Chinese Tourist Critically Injured After High-Speed Motorcycle Crash in Pattaya

Pattaya

A Chinese tourist was left in critical condition after crashing his high-powered motorcycle into a utility pole at high speed in Pattaya’s Soi Chaloem Phrakiat 3 early Tuesday morning.

At 5:16 AM on April 23rd, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received a report of a serious motorcycle accident in Soi Chaloem Phrakiat 3, Pattaya City. Rescue workers coordinated with Pol. Lt. Anand Mahakit-Asawakul, Deputy Inspector of Pattaya Police Station, and rushed to the scene.

There, they found a damaged Kawasaki 1,000cc big bike in black and green. The motorcycle rider had slammed into the utility pole, scattering parts across the area. A full-face helmet was found shattered on the road. Nearby, the body of a male tourist, believed to be of Chinese nationality and approximately 30-40 years old, was found lying on the road.

He was in critical condition. Rescue workers and medical staff administered CPR and rushed him to the hospital. The crash also caused damage to a street-side food stall, including broken tables, chairs, and a collapsed awning.

A witness who asked to not be identified stated to The Pattaya News that the victim had been seen riding the same motorcycle up and down the alley twice earlier in the night. Just before the crash, he reportedly sped down the road, hit a speed bump, lost control, and crashed into the pole. The impact threw both the rider and the bike in different directions. The witness immediately alerted the authorities.

Pattaya police conducted an investigation and recorded the scene. CCTV footage confirmed that the victim had been riding at high speed and lost control on his own, with no other vehicle involved.
