Pattaya Police Officer Climbs Across Fourth-Floor Balcony to Rescue Frightened 7-Year-Old

Pattaya —

A Pattaya police officer was praised for his bravery after scaling a fourth-floor balcony to rescue a young girl who was trapped alone in a locked condo unit.

Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyu, Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station, presented an award to Pol. Lt. Cpl. Witoon Thammachat, a patrol officer, in recognition of his dedication and outstanding performance. The award was given under the “Doing Good Deserves a Reward” initiative by Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police.

The commendation follows an incident in which police received a call for help at a condominium on Phratamnak Soi 4 in Pattaya. A 7-year-old girl, unable to contact her guardian and locked inside a room, became frightened and attempted to climb across the balcony to another unit. Pol. Lt. Cpl. Witoon bravely climbed to the fourth-floor balcony and successfully rescued the child.

The child was safe, and Pol. Lt. Cpl. Witoon was also widely praised for his action.
