Nongprue Villagers Panic after Suspicious Object Resembling a Bomb Found Under Jackfruit Tree, Bomb Squad Later Says Was Fake

Nongprue-

At 3:00 PM on April 20, 2025, Nongprue Police Station received a report of a suspicious object resembling a bomb placed under a tree in Soi Nong Mai Kaen 16 in Village 8 in Nongprue. Upon receiving the report, police coordinated with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from Chonburi Provincial Police to investigate.

At the scene, under a jackfruit tree, authorities found a suspicious object shaped like a metal rod wrapped with black electrical tape, resembling a hand grenade. To prevent potential danger, officers placed a car tire around the object as a precaution. Initial inspection revealed that the object was merely an air compressor component wrapped in cloth tape to look like an explosive.

Mr. Suchart Wichaiprasit, 47, the homeowner, stated that the area around his house is typically quiet, with no strangers or vendors daring to enter. He had never seen the object before and admitted to being extremely shocked, initially believing it was a real bomb, prompting him to contact the police. He confirmed he has no disputes with anyone and suspects that pranksters crafted the object to resemble a bomb to scare residents.
