Eight People Injured in Pattaya Songkran Crash Involving Suspected Foreign Drunk Driver

Pattaya —

Eight people, including children celebrating Songkran, were injured after a foreign driver allegedly under the influence crashed into multiple vehicles on Thepprasit Road in Pattaya.

At 3:30 PM on April 19th, officers from Pattaya Police Station and rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision with multiple injuries on Thepprasit Road in Pattaya.

At the scene, they found a black Honda Civic overturned at the roadside. The driver, an unidentified foreign male approximately 50 years old, sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Additionally, four more cars and two motorcycles were found damaged. Seven other individuals—including men, women, and children who had been playing with water along the roadside to celebrate Songkran—were also injured and taken to the hospital.

A witness stated that the black car had been parked at the roadside before suddenly speeding out and crashing into the motorcycles and other vehicles. The driver was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.

Police have documented the scene as evidence, questioned the foreign driver, and are reviewing CCTV footage in the area as part of their ongoing investigation.
