Two Pattaya Traffic Cops Transferred After Viral Clip Shows Foreigner Allegedly Bribing 500 Baht

Pattaya police have transferred two traffic officers from duty after a video of a foreign tourist giving them 500 baht sparked public outrage and triggered an internal investigation.

On April 11th, Pattaya Police Station responded to a viral video showing a foreign tourist giving 500 baht to police officers. The video, posted by a user named “tolgassecret,” drew widespread criticism online due to the officers’ inappropriate conduct.

The video, posted on April 10th, clearly showed two Pattaya traffic police officers. The station called both officers in for questioning and launched an investigation. A fact-finding committee was then set up to look into the matter. The foreigner seen in the clip will also be invited in for further questioning.

Meanwhile, the Chonburi Provincial Police Commander ordered both officers to be temporarily transferred to the Chonburi Provincial Police Operations Center.

Pol. Col. Chatree Suksiri, Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, stated that any officer found abusing their power will face disciplinary and legal action immediately. They also stressed that bribes were unacceptable.
