Tourists Flock to Koh Si Chang for Songkran Holiday, Boosting Local Economy

SRI RACHA, CHONBURI – Koh Si Chang saw a surge of tourists and families during the Songkran holiday, with local authorities estimating over 10 million baht in economic activity.

On Monday, April 14th, reporters visited the Koh Loi-Koh Si Chang passenger pier in Sri Racha district, where crowds of local and out-of-province tourists were purchasing ferry tickets to the island.

Authorities, including marine police, the Marine Department, Sri Racha Municipality’s disaster prevention team, and district officials, were on hand to ensure safety and convenience. Strict measures were enforced, including zero tolerance for intoxicated boat operators and mandatory life jackets for all passengers.

The extended Songkran holiday has brought a lively atmosphere to Koh Si Chang, with ferry operators adding extra vessels to accommodate them. The tourism scene is expected to generate millions of baht, boosting the local economy.
