Naklua-
At 00:30 on April 14, 2025, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya received a report of a man jumping off the Naklua Fishing Pier in Naklua and disappearing into the sea. Police, volunteer rescuers, and marine rescue teams rushed to the scene, joined by The Pattaya News team.
Locals, fishermen, and anglers gathered at the pier, watching the incident unfold. Rescuers searched by land and water, eventually identifying the man as Mr. K, 52, a carpenter wearing a white floral shirt and brown shorts. He had jumped off the pier and vanished into the sea. Small fishing boats and rescue dinghies joined the search, locating him after 45 minutes, floating 200 meters from the pier, still conscious. Rescuers safely brought him back to shore.
Witnesses said Mr. K parked his motorcycle at the pier’s entrance, stood dazed, and leaned against the railing, appearing deeply stressed. He then jumped into the water and swam far out, alarming onlookers who quickly called for help.
Mrs. Amphai, 61, Mr. K’s wife, revealed he had been acting unusually, seeming stressed and lost in thought. That night, he drank three bottles of beer at home—far more than his usual one bottle after work—while staying silent. He mentioned wanting to watch people fish at the pier, which worried her, but she never expected him to jump. She rushed to the scene after being told he had disappeared into the sea.As of press time he was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.
