Pattaya Security Guard Regrets Fight with Food Delivery Rider Over Damaged Entry Card

Pattaya —

A village security guard has apologized for assaulting a food delivery rider after a dispute over a damaged entry card escalated into a group brawl in Pattaya.

The conflict dates back to the evening of April 10th, 2025, when a large group of over 40 food delivery riders from a popular app gathered near a village along Sukhumvit Road, inbound to Pattaya.

According to earlier reports, the dispute began when a rider attempted to return a damaged entry card, leading to a disagreement with the security guard that quickly got out of hand. One person was injured in the incident.

Later, at 4:06 PM on April 12th, Mr. Therdsak, 41, the security guard involved in the incident, spoke to The Pattaya News reporters to explain what happened. He said that on the day of the incident, a rider who had delivered food in the village returned to exchange his entry card. However, the card was badly damaged. Mr. Therdsak informed the rider about the rules for damaged cards.

However, the rider became upset and insisted on getting the card back. He followed Mr. Therdsak inside the village and tried to grab the card, pulling so hard that it tore Mr. Therdsak’s pants pocket. Mr. Therdsak then called his supervisor, while the rider called his fellow riders to the village entrance. A physical fight then broke out.

Mr. Therdsak admitted that he was the first to hit the rider but stopped once he calmed down and tried to stop both sides from continuing the fight. The police later arrived and brought the situation under control.

Mr. Therdsak said he regrets using violence and asks the public to understand the cause of the situation. He accepts responsibility for his actions but hopes people will also consider what led up to the fight.
