Pattaya, at 5:16 AM on April 12th, 2025 — Pattaya police responded to a report of an injured Chinese tourist abandoned in the middle of Soi Thepprasit.
The victim, Mr. Li Hailong, 37, was found with a split lip, a bruised right eye, and multiple abrasions. A concerned local had spotted him staggering and bleeding before stopping to help.
Li, who identified himself as a YouTuber, told police he met two fellow Chinese nationals at an entertainment venue. The pair later took him in a car to an isolated alley where they allegedly beat him, ignored his pleas, and stole his mobile phone before leaving him injured on the roadside.
Police escorted Li—who was reportedly intoxicated—to a hospital for treatment and advised him to file a formal complaint.
Investigators are reviewing the incident and working to identify the suspects involved and suspect it could be tied into the man’s career as a YouTuber and perhaps a disagreement over a video or content, but the investigation is continuing.
