Elderly Rider Injured After Losing Control of Motorcycle Near 18-Wheeler in Chonburi

Chonburi —

A 70-year-old man narrowly escaped serious injury after losing control of his motorcycle and sliding dangerously close to an 18-wheeler in Banglamung.

At 10:00 AM on April 9th, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received a report of a motorcycle accident on Highway 331 in front of the PTT gas station in the Khao Mai Kaew area. Upon receiving the report, rescue volunteers were dispatched to the scene.

There, officers found a purple-and-white Yamaha Fino motorcycle lying damaged in the middle of the road. Nearby, the injured rider, identified as Mr. Wichai, 70, was found lying on the ground. He had a large laceration above his right eyebrow and abrasions across his body. Rescue workers provided first aid at the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

Police revealed after reviewing CCTV footage that the motorcycle rider suddenly lost control and crashed. Both the rider and the motorcycle slid across the road and narrowly avoided hitting the back of an 18-wheel truck. Fortunately, the injuries sustained were minor.
