Pattaya– March 28, 2025

At 00:30 a.m. on March 28, 2025, Mr. Par Mikael Markusson, a 63-year-old Swedish national, along with Mr. Akkarapat Pakkes, a 37-year-old hotel reception staff member, submitted closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to the police to report a thief who broke into a guest room and stole multiple items.

The incident occurred in a lodging located in Soi Thepprasit. They filed the complaint with Pol. Sub-Lt. Ittikorn Saikrathok, an investigative officer at Pattaya City Police Station, to track down and prosecute the culprit.

Mr. Akkarapat Pakkes, the reception staff, recounted that he was alerted by Mr. Markusson about the theft of a black iPhone 15 from his room. The room had also been ransacked, with belongings scattered everywhere. Seeking assistance, Mr. Akkarapat reviewed the CCTV footage from inside the lodging and discovered a man attempting to twist open the doors of nearly every room. The thief gained entry to Mr. Markusson’s room because it was unlocked and proceeded to carry out the theft.
Further investigation of the CCTV footage revealed that the same suspect matched the description of a man from an earlier incident. On March 26, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the thief had targeted Krisana Sinet, a 26-year-old resident and transgender woman he had met on a dating app, stealing various items including a piggy bank containing 2,000 baht, a hairdryer worth about 250 baht, a fan valued at approximately 700 baht, and a hair straightener priced at around 900 baht, before fleeing the scene.

Police investigators from Pattaya City Police Station have begun examining the CCTV footage and collecting additional evidence at the scene to pursue the suspect and bring him to justice under the law. The suspect is believed to be a Cambodian national based on the prior incident.
