Cemetery Worker Shot Dead in Sri Racha

A 52-year-old cemetery worker was shot dead while cleaning a burial site in Sri Racha.

At 7:00 PM on March 22nd, Sri Racha Police received a report of a fatal shooting inside a cemetery in Moo 4, Sri Racha district, Chonburi province. Upon receiving the report, police proceeded to the scene with the Sawang Prateep Sri Racha rescue team.

At the scene, officers found the body of a woman later identified as Ms. Kanyathanathorn, a 52-year-old cemetery worker. She had sustained four gunshot wounds to her torso from an unidentified firearm.

According to fellow migrant workers at the cemetery, the victim was cleaning the area in preparation for the Qingming festival the following morning when a suspect, believed to be a woman, arrived on a motorcycle. The suspect called the victim over before pulling out a gun and shooting her multiple times, killing her instantly, before fleeing on the motorcycle.

Police initially suspected the motive to be a personal dispute. Forensic officers were called in to collect evidence, and witnesses were taken in for further questioning as part of the investigation to identify and apprehend the suspect.
