Pattaya, Thailand – A dramatic incident unfolded on March 21, 2025, when a thief who stole a motorcycle crashed into a roadside barrier, sustaining severe injuries before being apprehended by police. The suspect was captured on CCTV footage recklessly speeding through the streets prior to the accident.

At 6:30 PM on March 21st, 2025, Police Lieutenant Colonel Pakorn Muenseekhao, Chief of the Banglamung Police Station’s Crime Prevention Unit, along with Police Sub-Lieutenant Thongthawat Phonlakorn, Deputy Chief of the Investigation Unit, returned a stolen black Honda PCX motorcycle to its rightful owner, Ms. Saithan Nazil, a 27-year-old woman. The motorcycle had been stolen from a rental room in Soi Nong Krabok at 4:00 AM on the same day. Ms. Saithan had reported the theft to the Nong Prue Police Station shortly after.
According to Pol. Lt. Col. Pakorn, the suspect was apprehended following a tip-off received early that morning about a motorcycle accident near the Krating Lai Road underpass, just before Sukhumvit Road. The rider, who appeared incoherent and seriously injured, had crashed the vehicle on his own. Upon checking the motorcycle’s registration, authorities discovered it had been reported stolen earlier that night. The injured suspect was rushed to a hospital for treatment, where he was detained to face legal proceedings.
The motorcycle belonged to Ms. Saithan, whose boyfriend, Mr. Pisit Wonmuang, aged 30, provided further details. He explained that he had ridden the motorcycle to visit a friend in Soi Nong Krabok and parked it in front of a building, leaving the key fob in the front storage compartment. Thinking he would only be gone for a short time, he stepped away for about 10 minutes. Upon returning, the motorcycle was gone. Mr. Pisit immediately reported the theft and posted pictures of the vehicle on Facebook community groups to seek help.

A breakthrough came when a tourist transport driver shared dashcam footage showing a young man recklessly riding a motorcycle with a license plate matching the stolen vehicle. The rider was seen speeding dangerously, leaning low as if racing, before losing control, flipping over, and crashing into a roadside barrier. The severe injuries he sustained in the accident ultimately led to his capture.
Police later contacted Mr. Pisit and Ms. Saithan to confirm the motorcycle’s identity. Overjoyed at its recovery, the couple expressed their gratitude to the authorities. Though the vehicle sustained damage in the crash, they plan to repair it for continued use.
The suspect, who has still not been positiveley identified, remains in custody and will face charges once he recovers from his injuries.
