Thailand Expresses Disappointment Over Gaza Hostilities, Calls for Hostage Release

March 22, 2025 – Thailand has voiced profound disappointment at the resurgence of violence in the Gaza Strip, warning that the escalation threatens an already fragile peace process and deepens civilian suffering. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Thai government urged all parties to cease hostilities, exercise restraint, and pursue dialogue to resolve the ongoing conflict.

Central to Thailand’s plea is the immediate release of all remaining hostages held in Gaza, including one Thai national still in captivity. The government also demanded the swift retrieval of the bodies of two Thai nationals killed amid the violence, emphasizing the need for their families to find closure. “The prolonged captivity and unresolved fate of these individuals remain a deep concern,” the statement noted.
Thailand gave its dedication to protecting its citizens abroad, collaborating with international partners to secure the hostage’s freedom and repatriate the deceased.

The nation extended gratitude to countries and organizations aiding these efforts while calling on the global community to uphold humanitarian principles and prioritize civilian safety. As the situation in Gaza deteriorates, Thailand’s appeal focuses on both its national interests and a broader hope for peace.
