Bali Hai Pier Officers in Pattaya Praised for Recovering Lost Bags of Chinese Tourists

Pattaya —

A Bali Hai Pier officer earned praise for recovering and returning two lost bags containing cash and important documents to Chinese tourists.

On March 18th, Mr. Thanongsak Chimluang, a Bali Hai Pier officer, was on duty alongside patrol police when he was informed by a tour guide about a shoulder bag found at the waiting area for transportation. It was suspected to belong to a tourist who had hurriedly boarded a vehicle. Inside the bag, there was a passport and a large amount of cash.

Shortly afterward, a male Chinese tourist ran back to the spot. Officials called the tour guide to assist in verifying the bag’s ownership. Upon inspection, the bag was found to contain 98 banknotes of 100 yuan each (approximately 49,000 baht), and over 10,000 baht. After confirming the owner’s identity and belongings, officers returned the bag to the tourist.

Additionally, Bali Hai Pier officers discovered another tourist’s bag containing important documents and some cash. They quickly sought out the owner until another Chinese tourist arrived to claim it. After verification, the bag was returned.

The incident received widespread praise from both the public and tourists.
