Pattaya, Thailand – Following widespread online media reports pointing out the rise of beggars across Pattaya like this one from us here, local authorities have sprung into action, launching an urgent campaign to address homelessness, illegal begging, and social issues.
On March 18, 2025, at 9:00 PM, a high-level meeting was held at the 3rd-floor command center of Pattaya City Police Station to coordinate efforts among police, administrative officials, and social welfare agencies.
The meeting was led by Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyoo – Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station and attended by multiple other prominent officers.
Together, these officials outlined a plan to restore order by addressing the plight of the homeless, beggars, and mentally ill in Pattaya.
Authorities have launched major operations across Pattaya, focusing on the following:
Screening the Homeless: Coordinating with welfare agencies to provide care and support.
Cracking Down on Illegal Begging: Targeting operations to end potential human trafficking networks.
Supporting the Vulnerable: Offering assistance to those facing social hardships to improve their quality of life.

The message is clear: Pattaya will not be a haven for disorder. It must remain a safe and welcoming destination for tourists and residents alike.
“Share the word! A world-class tourism city needs order. Anyone breaking the law will face consequences,” authorities declared. The operation is backed by the Royal Thai Police, Chonburi Provincial Police, and Region 2 Police Command.
