Khao Kheow Open Zoo celebrated Thai Elephant Day with a grand buffet feast for its oldest elephant, Pang Nat.
At 10:00 AM on March 13th, Ms. Ularika Kongprom, Assistant Director of the zoo, presided over the Thai Elephant Day event. The event was attended by zoo executives, staff, employees, and visiting students.
Khao Kheow Open Zoo organized activities to raise awareness about the importance of elephants, which have long been a symbol of Thailand. The zoo also brought out its oldest resident elephant, Pang Nat, along with Pang Janphen and Pang Jim, to participate in the celebrations.
A giant buffet cake made from a variety of fruits and vegetables were prepared for the elephants. Students and visitors had the opportunity to feed them and take photos with the herd.
Ms. Ularika stated that the event also featured exhibitions on the history of Thai Elephant Day, and the special abilities of elephants. The goal was to encourage Thais to appreciate, love, and protect elephants.
