Thailand Sees 7.66 Million Foreign Tourists, Earning 375 Billion Baht

Thailand has welcomed 7.66 million foreign tourists so far this year, generating 375 billion baht in revenue.

Tourism and Sports Minister Mr. Sorawong Thienthong stated that the past week marked the beginning of the Muslim fasting month and the end of the winter tourism season, leading to a slowdown in both short-haul and long-haul tourist arrivals.

As a result, the total number of international tourists for the week stood at 638,863, a decrease of 30,077 from the previous week, or 4.50%. On average, 91,266 foreign visitors entered Thailand per day.

The top five source countries were China (68,069), Malaysia (58,309), Russia (54,417), India (41,001), and Germany (33,871). Notably, arrivals from Germany and China increased by 10.72% and 5.23%, respectively, compared to the previous week. In contrast, tourist arrivals from Malaysia, India, and Russia declined by 17.35%, 2.29%, and 1.87%, respectively.

As of March 10, Thailand had welcomed a total of 7,660,207 international tourists since January 1st, generating approximately 375.035 billion baht in tourism revenue, Mr. Sorawong stated.
