Thai Man Shot Twice After Verbal Dispute Escalates at Banglamung Auto Shop

Banglamung —

A 37-year-old Thai man was shot twice after a failed attempt to settle a dispute with his rival at an auto shop in Banglamung, Chonburi.

At 8:06 PM on March 8th, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center received a report of a shooting that left one person injured. The incident occurred in the Khao Mai Kaew area of Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Upon receiving the report, the rescue team informed police before rushing to the scene.

The scene of the incident was an auto repair shop. Bloodstains were found leading to the victim’s relative’s house next to the shop. Several family members of the victim were present at the scene. The injured victim had already been taken by his relatives to seek help from police officers at the Pong Police Booth.

The victim was later identified as Mr. Ekkapong, 37, who sustained gunshot wounds to his right calf and another to his ankle. Rescue workers provided first aid before urgently transporting him to the hospital.

According to Mr. Sasiwat, the victim’s younger brother who witnessed the incident, Mr. Ekkapong had a conflict with an individual named Toey, whom he had a fistfight with earlier. Toey, who lost the fight, later challenged Mr. Ekkapong to meet again to “clear things up” at the auto shop.

However, upon arrival, Toey threw a punch at Mr. Ekkapong, and his friends, identified only as Arm, O, and Eiad, pulled out three firearms and threatened to shoot anyone who moved. In fear for his life, Mr. Ekkapong ran into a nearby house, but the group chased after him and shot him before fleeing the scene.

According to reports, police have already identified all suspects and are pursuing them to bring them to justice.
