Pattaya, at 10:36 AM on March 8th, 2025 — Pattaya City Police, supported by over 50 officers, launched a surprise drug raid at Jomtien Beach, targeting Soi 2 and Soi 3.
The sudden operation caused dealers and users to flee, with some attempting to scale walls to escape. However, police quickly surrounded the area and detained all suspects.
Previously, Pattaya police raided a drug den in Soi Jomtien 3, arresting a dealer and seven users and have been targeting this area for months, razing abandoned buildings as well.
Police arrested Yutthana, 39, during a sting operation, seizing 241 meth pills and 8,000 baht in cash. He had a criminal record of over 10 drug-related arrests. Despite being arrested, customers continued to call him for more drugs during the actual bust, according to the Pattaya local media.
Officers also caught several users mid-consumption. Some were so unfazed that they insisted on finishing their drugs, claiming the substances were legalized and could prevent diseases and maintain body weight, according to the Pattaya local media.
Police detained two dealers and 12 users, along with a large quantity of illegal drugs, for legal processing.
