Thailand, March 5th, 2025 — The Thai Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) issued a warning that summer storms are expected to hit parts of northern, northeastern, and central Thailand, including Bangkok and Chonburi, from March 6th to 8th.

According to the Meteorological Department, a moderate high-pressure system from China will move over northeastern Thailand and the South China Sea, while hot to extremely hot weather persists in upper Thailand.

This atmospheric clash is expected to trigger thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and possible lightning strikes in affected areas.

Authorities have placed 62 provinces under storm watch and urged residents to stay informed via the “THAI DISASTER ALERT” app or the 1784 emergency hotline, which operates 24/7.
