Thai Police Raid Illegal Bangkok Gambling Den, Arrest 52 Thai and Foreign Nationals

Bangkok, March 4th, 2025 — Thai police raided an illegal gambling den inside a warehouse in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi district, arresting 52 individuals, including Thai and foreign nationals.

The operation, led by Ladprao Police Station officers, uncovered an underground poker ring with gambling equipment and chips valued at approximately 51.4 million baht.

The raid followed a tip-off from an informant about large-scale poker games frequently taking place at the location. Upon arrival, officers found dozens of gamblers actively playing poker and exchanging money.

Authorities charged 39-year-old Sitthisak (last name withheld by the police) with organizing illegal gambling, while the other 51 suspects, including Thais and other nationalities, were charged with participating in unlawful betting. They immediately identified themselves and took the suspects into custody.

Investigators confirmed that all detainees admitted to engaging in illegal gambling. Police seized 17 sets of gambling equipment along with the chips and transferred the suspects to Ladprao Police Station for legal proceedings.

Thai authorities vowed to continue crackdowns on illegal gambling operations across the city, even as a spirited debate over legalizing casinos with strict rules continues nationally.
