PATTAYA, Thailand – The sun-soaked sands of Jomtien Beach bore witness to the electrifying conclusion of the Pattaya International Beach Football Cup 2025, held from February 14th to 23rd, as teams from across the globe battled it out for supremacy in one of Pattaya’s most anticipated annual sporting events.
The tournament, which took place in front of the Baptist Conference Center on Jomtien Beach, wrapped up on Sunday, February 23rd, with Finland and Thailand emerging as champions in the Social and Elite tournaments, respectively.
Social Tournament: Finland Claims Victory
In the Social Tournament, designed for recreational players and fostering a more relaxed yet spirited competition, Finland clinched the top spot with an impressive display of teamwork and skill.
England secured second place, showcasing their resilience and flair, while Russia rounded out the podium in third. India followed closely in fourth place, with the host nation Thailand taking fifth. Pakistan and Germany finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
Elite Tournament: Thailand Reigns Supreme
In the Elite Tournament, reserved for seasoned contenders, Thailand asserted their dominance on home soil, claiming first place with a performance that thrilled the local crowd.
Russia, a consistent powerhouse in the sport, took second place, while China secured third with a strong showing that underscored their rising prominence in international beach football. Norway finished fourth, capping off an intensely competitive Elite bracket.
Organized by Pattaya City Hall in collaboration with local media group Pattaya People, the tournament has a history of bringing top-tier talent to Jomtien Beach.
The beachside stadium, a temporary structure built specifically for the tournament, provided an intimate setting for fans to enjoy the fast-paced, barefoot action that defines beach football. Admission was free, encouraging residents and visitors to flock to Jomtien Beach.
Thailand’s beach football scene is also set to gain further prominence in 2025, with the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup slated for March 20th to 30th at Jomtien Beach. Hosted by Thailand for the third time, that tournament will feature 16 teams vying for continental glory, building on the momentum of the Pattaya International Beach Football Cup.
