Police arrested a homeless woman after she was seen openly using drugs in a busy Pattaya market.
The arrest was carried out on February 21st at the Grand Hall Market. The market is typically busy with both Thai and foreign tourists, as well as many young people.
Upon arrival, Pattaya police found the woman smoking, with drug paraphernalia clearly visible beside her. She seemed indifferent to those around her, the police described.
The unidentified woman was taken into custody and subjected to a drug test, which confirmed the presence of narcotics in her system. She reportedly admitted to using drugs and was subsequently placed in a rehabilitation program to help her reintegrate into society.
Pattaya authorities urge the public to report any drug-related offenses to the Pattaya Police Station or Chonburi Provincial Police Station to maintain a positive image for Pattaya City.
