Pattaya, Thailand – Mr. Vladimir T, a Russian national, visited the Pattaya City Police Station to follow up on a recent theft case that left him out of pocket by nearly 100,000 baht. The incident occurred around February 12th when Mr. T’s suitcase was slashed open by a thief, leading to the loss of cash and valuables.
According to the police report filed on February 13th, Mr. T lost 40,800 baht in cash, 26,000 rubles (equivalent to approximately 9,600 baht), and 1,500 USD (approximately 50,000 baht). Additionally, the thief made off with car keys and room keys. Mr. T met with Pol. Lt. Col. Thananon Athipansee, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation at the Pattaya City Police Station, at 15:06 on February 17th to discuss the progress of the investigation.
The theft took place while Mr. T was staying at an unidentified hotel in South Pattaya. The perpetrator, described as a Thai male, used a sharp object to slice open the side of Mr. T’s bag, swiftly stealing the contents. After discovering the theft, Mr. T immediately reported the incident to Pol. Lt. Saksayachai Chaidet, Deputy Chief of Investigation at the Pattaya police station.
Initial investigations included a review of the hotel’s security camera footage, but unfortunately, the cameras did not capture the suspect.
The Pattaya City Police are actively working on this case.
