Over 1,800 Runners Conquer Koh Larn Trail in Third Annual Race

Over 1,800 runners took on the challenging trails of Koh Larn to push their limits in the island’s third annual trail race aimed at promoting sports tourism in Pattaya.

The 3rd Koh Larn Trail race took place at Samae Beach on Sunday, February 9th. Mr. Chukiat Nongyai, President of the Pattaya Running Association, stated that the event was organized in collaboration with Pattaya City and Koh Larn residents to promote sports tourism in Pattaya and Chonburi. The event is held annually in the second week of February.

The competition featured three distances. The 6-kilometer race, open to men and women, started at 6:25 AM. The 11-kilometer race began at 6:20 AM and was divided into nine age groups, including men’s and women’s open categories for ages 20-29, 30-39, and 40-49, as well as men’s 50-59, men’s 60 and over, and women’s 50 and over.

The 25-kilometer race started at 4:00 AM with the same age group divisions. All races had a cutoff time of 11:00 AM, and winners received trophies, cash prizes, and medals from Pattaya City.

This year’s event saw over 1,800 participants, including 679 runners from Chonburi, 842 from other provinces, and 279 international competitors. The race is expected to generate over 8 million baht, further boosting sports tourism and attracting both Thai and international visitors to Pattaya and Koh Larn while supporting the local economy.
