Forest Fire Threatens Homes Near Pattaya, Causes Air Pollution Complaints

Pattaya —

A forest fire near Pattaya yesterday threatened homes before firefighters brought it under control.

At 3:06 PM on February 9th, the Nong Prue Municipality’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation team, along with the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center, received a report of a forest fire in Soi Boon Samphan 14 near Pattaya. Emergency responders immediately rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the blaze spreading rapidly. Multiple fire trucks were deployed to spray water to prevent the fire from expanding and damaging nearby homes. The flames were eventually brought under control, leaving only lingering smoke in the area. The authorities temporarily evacuated residents as a precaution.

The cause of the wildfire is still under investigation. Officials will later assess whether the fire has led to an increase in PM 2.5 pollution levels in Pattaya after complaints from nearby residents.
