Police arrested three suspects, including two minors, within six hours of robbing a Russian tourist in Pattaya.
At 4:06 AM on February 8th, Pattaya police arrested three suspects, including two 16-year-olds and one 18-year-old, at a residence in Soi Wat Boon Kanjanaram 5, just a few kilometers from the crime scene. Authorities recovered two stolen iPhones, the victim’s passport, and the blue-black Honda Wave 110 motorcycle used in the robbery.
According to police, a Russian tourist was robbed of her valuables while walking in Pattaya’s Soi Wat Boon Kanjanaram 8 in the early hours of yesterday. The suspects, who appeared to be teenagers, stole two mobile phones, 4,500 baht in cash, and important documents.
After receiving the report, police traced the suspects to their hideout, where they found them consuming cannabis and kratom. Upon arrest, the suspects reportedly confessed that they were the ones who snatched the victim’s bag. They also reportedly admitted using the stolen money to buy drugs.
All three suspects were taken into custody along with the stolen items and CCTV footage as evidence. They will face legal proceedings. The Russian victims praised the police for their quick action, as the arrests were made within just six hours of the incident.
