Na Jomtien —
Na Jomtien police arrested a 40-year-old Thai man for allegedly stealing a Russian tourist’s belongings at a resort in Sattahip.
According to police, a 45-year-old Russian tourist, Mr. A (alias), was swimming near a resort in Na Jomtien, Sattahip, Chonburi province, when the suspect allegedly stole his belongings, which he had left on a table by the beach. The stolen items included a Google Pixel 8 smartphone, a driver’s license, two credit cards, and a hotel key card. The victim reported the theft to the Na Jomtien police.
Upon receiving the report, police reviewed CCTV footage and interviewed witnesses. They then quickly identified the suspect’s vehicle as a white Isuzu D-Max pickup truck.
Eventually, the suspect, identified only as Mr. Thitiphan (last name withheld), a 40-year-old Thai citizen, was captured in Huai Yai. The suspect was found along with the pickup truck used in the crime, as well as a quantity of methamphetamine and crystal meth. He was taken into custody and brought to Na Jomtien Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Mr. A later visited the police station to personally thank the officers for their quick action in solving the case. He said it helped boost the confidence of foreign tourists visiting the area. The suspect has been charged with theft and possession of illegal drugs.
