The Thai Meteorological Department forecasts changing weather patterns from January 31st to February 5th.
From January 31st to February 3rd, cooler air will weaken, leading to a 2–5°C rise in temperatures across northern and northeastern Thailand, though chilly mornings will persist.
Central, eastern, and upper southern regions will also see cool mornings, with fog in some areas. The northeast monsoon will ease, resulting in calmer seas and less rain in the South.
However, from February 4th to 5th, a new cold front from China will lower temperatures by 2–4°C in the Northeast and 1–2°C in other regions, accompanied by stronger winds. The northeast monsoon will also intensify, bringing heavier rain to the South and rougher seas, with waves over 2 meters in stormy areas.
Authorities advise the public in northern Thailand to prepare for temperature changes and fire hazards. Southern residents should be cautious of heavy rain, while sailors should avoid stormy waters.
