Pattaya —
Walking Street Pattaya yesterday was filled with tourists celebrating Chinese New Year with decorations, lion dances, and performances.
On January 29th, which is Chinese New Year, an important day for Chinese people and those of Chinese descent in Thailand, many families went out to celebrate after honoring their ancestors and praying. Pattaya’s Walking Street, which is one of the city’s most popular spots, was packed with visitors.
Over 200 entertainment venues on Walking Street decorated the area with lanterns, dragon and lion figures, and other Chinese-themed decorations. Many staff also dressed in traditional qipao outfits to match the festive mood.
Venue owners also arranged a special show featuring a 59-meter-long golden dragon, twin lion dancers, and other performers to entertain tourists.
Meanwhile, Pattaya Tourist Police were on duty to keep visitors safe. Tourists can report any issues through the Thailand Tourist Police (TPB) app or call the 24-hour hotline at 1155.
