A Russian couple was hit by a big bike rider while crossing the road together in Pattaya on January 29th, leaving one person dead and the other seriously injured.
At 11:30 PM on January 29th, 2025, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received a report of a motorcycle accident on Jomtien 2nd Road in Pattaya. Upon receiving the alert, rescue workers rushed to the scene, along with police and reporters from The Pattaya News.
There, they found a KTM 1200cc motorcycle overturned and damaged. The first injured person was the motorcycle rider, identified as Mr. Artem, 26 years old, with unknown nationality. The second injured individual, later identified as Ms. Zhanna, 44 years old, a Russian national, was a pedestrian.
Emergency responders administered first aid before transporting Ms. Zhanna to the hospital. The third person was the husband of Ms. Zhanna. They had been crossing the road together and were hit by the motorbike. Rescue workers performed CPR to save the unidentified man, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Mr. Arkhadech, a 34-year-old witness to the incident, told The Pattaya News that while driving, he had stopped his vehicle to let the foreign couple cross the road. At that moment, he heard Mr. Artem’s motorcycle speeding from behind and crashing into the couple, throwing them in opposite directions. All three individuals were severely injured. After the crash, he immediately contacted the authorities for help.
Pattaya police plan to review CCTV footage to proceed with legal action against the motorcycle rider.
