On January 26th, 2025, the NIDA Poll revealed public sentiment regarding integrated entertainment complexes, including casinos.
The survey, reportedly conducted from January 20th and 21st, 2025, sampled 1,310 participants aged 18 and older from various regions, education levels, occupations, and income groups across Thailand. The data was collected via telephone interviews with a confidence level of 97%.
Key Findings:
- 59.16% of respondents opposed both entertainment complexes and casinos, while 28.93% supported the idea. Only 8.63% backed entertainment complexes without casinos.
- On legalizing online gambling, 58.32% were strongly opposed, with just 19.92% fully supporting it and 11.45% somewhat agreeing.
- Regarding a referendum on casinos and online gambling legalization, 51.07% were against the idea, while 37.86% supported it. A smaller proportion, 5.11%, agreed with a referendum only on casinos, and 3.89% favored a vote solely on online gambling legalization.
The survey highlights strong public resistance to gambling initiatives, reflecting ongoing societal and policy debates in Thailand.
