Fire Destroys Five Homes in Naklua, One Person Injured

Naklua —

A massive fire in Naklua destroyed five homes and injured one resident.

At 6:00 PM on January 22nd, Banglamung police received a report of a severe fire at a residential area in Naklua. Officers immediately coordinated with Pattaya City and nearby municipal fire departments to respond to the scene.

The fire broke out in a row of two-story houses, which had concrete ground floors and wooden upper floors. Flames spread rapidly, and explosions were heard from within the blaze. Firefighters battled the fire for over an hour before bringing it under control. In total, five houses were destroyed, and a Mercedes-Benz parked in front of one house was also damaged.

Mr. Thanawat, a 26-year-old auto mechanic, stated that the fire likely started due to an electrical short circuit in the rightmost house, which had recently been vacated by tenants. He saw smoke rising before flames erupted and quickly spread, prompting him to call the police.

Mr. Yongyuth, a 55-year-old homeowner, suffered burns on his back while trying to extinguish the fire. He recalled hearing an electrical short circuit and seeing sparks near the roof before the flames spread.

After the fire was extinguished, police recorded the incident and called forensic investigators to examine the scene and determine the exact cause. Initial findings suggested that the fire might have been caused by an electrical short circuit. The total damage has yet to be assessed.
