At 10:00 AM on January 20th, 2025, Pol. Lt. Gen. Santi Chainiramai, the Narcotics Suppression Bureau Commander (NSB) Commander, detailed the results of a sweeping anti-drug operation targeting key networks in Bangkok, northern, and northeastern provinces.
Inner Bangkok Investigation Nets Cocaine Dealers
Police monitored activities in Sukhumvit’s Soi Nana, identifying African nationals involved in selling cocaine to tourists. Evidence led to 12 arrest warrants, resulting in 11 arrests: nine African men, one African woman, and one Thai woman. Authorities seized 61 grams of cocaine.
Northern Network Disrupted
An operation in Chiang Rai intercepted a shipment of 478,000 methamphetamine pills and 30 kg of ketamine hidden in packages. The drugs were en route to Nakhon Si Thammarat. In a subsequent raid at a local gas station, one suspect was arrested after ramming a police vehicle while attempting to flee. Authorities seized three vehicles alongside the narcotics.
Northeastern Traffickers Stopped
In Sakon Nakhon and Udon Thani, police arrested three suspects transporting 4 million methamphetamine pills destined for Bangkok. The suspects admitted to collecting the drugs from a Makro parking lot in Nakhon Phanom, earning 200,000 baht for delivery.
Additional investigations led to the arrest of two more suspects in Nakhon Pathom, with 3 million pills seized at a stash house.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Santi emphasized the importance of targeting entire networks, including seizing assets obtained through drug trafficking, to disrupt operations and reduce illegal drug trade activities nationwide.
