A wildfire that broke out near a monastery in Banglamung district of Chonburi on January 15th, 2025, has been extinguished, leaving significant forest damage.

A forest fire broke out at 9:30 PM on January 15th, near a local monastery in Banglamung, Chonburi, spreading quickly and prompting urgent action from local authorities.

Now for our update:

As of 11:00 AM on January 16th, local reporters revisited the incident scene to assess the situation. It was found that the wildfire had been extinguished, leaving only a small amount of smoke. The affected area showed significant damage to the trees in the forest, though the fire did not reach the monastery nearby.

Local residents and devotees were seen by The Pattaya News team clearing fallen leaves and grass and creating a firebreak around the monastery to prevent future fires from spreading. The cause of the wildfire is believed to be a natural occurrence, as similar fires have been reported annually in the area.
