Royal Garden Plaza to Host LGBTQ+ Wedding Celebration on February 14th to Celebrate Marriage Equality Law

Pattaya —

Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya is set to celebrate Thailand’s historic Marriage Equality Law with a grand event and free wedding ceremonies for LGBTQ+ couples on February 14th, 2025.

The celebration “Pattaya Marriage Equality Celebration 2025” will be organized to celebrate the official enactment of Thailand’s “Marriage Equality Law” on January 23rd, 2025. It is organized in collaboration with Pattaya City and various partners.

One of the event’s highlights is the selection of seven LGBTQ+ couples who will have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams with a wedding ceremony and legal marriage registration free of charge.

Among the chosen couples is the record-breaking pair of Mr. Nontawat Charoenkesonsin and Mr. Tanakorn Sittitiamtong, who gained global attention in 2012 after setting a Guinness World Record for the longest kiss, lasting 50 hours, 25 minutes, and 1 second. Now, 12 years later, the couple resides in Chachoengsao and have been selected as the first participants in this historic event.

Mr. Nontawat thanked the event organizers for selecting him and his partner. He also mentioned that the event symbolizes progress in social acceptance and understanding of all forms of love. He hoped this project will inspire other couples to embrace their love with pride and courage.

Thailand’s Marriage Equality Law is set to allow all couples, regardless of gender, to register their marriages with equal legal rights. These include joint asset management, inheritance, and child adoption rights under the updated Civil and Commercial Code. Thailand is now the first ASEAN country to enact such legislation. Registration takes effect from January 22nd in Bangkok and nationwide on January 23rd.

The Pattaya Marriage Equality Celebration 2025 will take place at Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya on February 14th, 2025. Interested couples can register until January 31st via the website www.royalgardenplaza.co.th. Applicants must share their love stories or videos explaining why they wish to be one of the seven selected couples, using social media platforms (Facebook/Instagram/TikTok) with the hashtag #PMEC2025.
