Pattaya —
An elderly man was found unconscious on a roadside in Pattaya and later passed away, possibly due to the cold weather, said authorities.
On January 12th, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center received a report of an elderly man found unconscious by the roadside in Soi Khao Talo in Pattaya. Authorities coordinated with local police and rescue volunteers to investigate the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities found a large crowd of people gathering at the scene. The unconscious man was later identified as Mr. Thongrai Phatprom, 75 years old. Rescue workers provided initial first aid while his children closely monitored his condition. Unfortunately, Mr. Thongrai passed away shortly afterward.
Ms. Mam, the man’s 55-year-old daughter, stated that her father often walked for exercise around the area. However, she did not see him earlier that day until a neighbor called to inform her that her father was found unconscious by the roadside. He was struggling to breathe.
Ms. Mam rushed to the scene and found rescue workers helping her father. She was unaware if her father had any health conditions, as he was strong, although she added that he drank alcohol regularly.
Nongprue police said there were no signs of physical assault on the body. It is suspected that the unusually cold weather might have caused the man to go into shock, leading to his death, said rescue workers.
