Bang Lamung —
At 5:06 AM on January 11th, 2025, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya responded to a serious collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Soi Nong Ket Yai, Bang Lamung District.
Upon arrival, rescuers found an orange pickup truck with significant front-end damage. The driver, 34-year-old Chaiyarat Panpitanusorn, was waiting at the scene to provide his account to authorities.
Nearby, a severely damaged black motorcycle lay in the middle of the road, and the rider, 26-year-old Niwet Inpitak, was critically injured. Rescue workers performed CPR in a desperate attempt to save his life, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
According to Chaiyarat’s statement, he was driving his pickup out of Sukhumvit Road when the motorcycle, traveling in the opposite direction, allegedly suddenly turned sharply into Soi Suksomboon, cutting in front of his vehicle. Despite braking, he was reportedly unable to avoid the collision.
Police from Bang Lamung Station documented the scene and plan to review CCTV footage to confirm the events leading to this tragic accident and ensure fairness for all parties.
The deceased’s body has been transported to Bang Lamung Hospital, where it will be held until family members complete formalities to arrange religious rites.
