A 17-year-old boy in Pattaya was brutally attacked by a gang of 5-6 teenagers armed with knives and wooden sticks, leaving him with severe head injuries. The attack happened when he went to pick up a girl at Bali Hai Skateboard Park late at night.
At 4:00 PM on January 9th, Ms. Aris Saosa, 27, and the victim, Mr. Chitsanupong, 17, submitted video footage to The Pattaya News reporters, which shows a brutal assault that left the latter severely injured. They also provided a police report and sought help from the media to identify the group of teenagers responsible for the attack.
According to Ms. Aris, the victim’s aunt, her nephew returned home at around 4:00 AM, with a bleeding head wound and swollen face. She immediately rushed him to a local hospital. Her nephew then later explained that he had been beaten unconscious and left at the scene for over an hour before riding his motorcycle home. Friends later showed Ms. Aris a video of the assault, which depicted her nephew being brutally kicked and beaten unconscious, with a woman pressing her foot on his chest and demanding he bow to her. Ms. Aris vowed to pursue justice to the fullest extent.
Mr. Chitsanupong recounted that at 3:00 AM, he had left home to refuel his motorcycle and received a call from a female friend who asked him for a ride home from the skateboarding area at Bali Hai Pier, South Pattaya.
Upon arrival, he was ambushed by a group of 5-6 teenagers armed with knives and wooden sticks. The attackers identified themselves as members of the “Ban Chang gang” before chasing him down and assaulting him. He was struck with wooden sticks and slashed with knives, resulting in a head wound, severe swelling, and profuse bleeding. After being unconscious for over an hour, he awoke to find his phone missing and returned home to seek his aunt’s help.
According to reports, the “Ban Chang gang” has reportedly been involved in numerous violent incidents, including assaults, stabbings, and shootings, which often involve rival gangs. They are known to gather at Pattaya Beach, Bali Hai Pier, and Jomtien Beach. Many members are minors aged 15-18 who falsely claim connections to police officers to avoid consequences.
