Saraburi —
On January 8th, 2025, Thai national media reported a tragic incident occurred in Kaeng Khoi, Saraburi, where an 84-year-old man was fatally attacked by his own dog at his residence.
Rescue volunteers arrived at the wooden house to find bloodstains under the structure and scattered belongings. The victim, publicly identified only as Mr. Khanthi (last name withheld by the police), was discovered near the bathroom under the house, with severe bite wounds to his arms and body. His right arm and wrist were missing.
The dog, a black male mixed breed named “Black,” was chained nearby, barking aggressively.
According to the victim’s 52-year-old son, Mr. Prayong (last name withheld by the police), the dog had been raised by his father since he was a puppy and was deeply loved. He suspects the attack resulted from the dog’s stress due to prolonged chaining.
Authorities believe the man had been deceased for over a day. The missing arm raises concerns, with speculation that the dog may have either consumed or discarded it. The body has been sent for an autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death.
