On January 5th, Mr. Poramase publicly revealed that Pattaya City organized several events between December 28th, 2024, and January 1st, 2025, to celebrate the New Year and promote tourism among residents and tourists.

The key event was the “Pattaya Countdown 2025: Carnival of Happiness,” held in collaboration with the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization from December 29th to 31st at Pattaya Beach and on December 31st at Koh Larn.

The mayor stated that the event received overwhelming support from both Thai and international tourists. Surveys showed that during the celebration, Pattaya welcomed 393,016 visitors. Of these, 308,468 stayed in hotels and resorts, accounting for over 83.05% occupancy rate across 61,034 rooms, while 22,412 visitors stayed with relatives or in other accommodations.

“I’m very happy with the success of Pattaya Countdown 2025 and thankful to everyone who chose Pattaya for their New Year celebration,” said Mr. Poramese. “This success helped increase local income, supported families, and showed how important tourism is to Pattaya’s economy.”

The mayor promised to continue improving Pattaya through the Better Pattaya initiative, which focuses on infrastructure development, quality tourism, safety, cleanliness, and environmental sustainability to make sure the city remains a top, world-class destination for travelers.
