Pattaya —
At 2:00 AM on January 4th, 2025, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received a report of a Russian tourist injured in a stabbing at a convenience store on Jomtien Second Road.
The victim, publicly identified as Mr. Denis Rumiantsev, a 39-year-old Russian, was found with a knife wound to his left leg, bleeding heavily. Good Samaritans reportedly stayed with him until rescue workers arrived to provide first aid before rushing him to the hospital.
A convenience store employee (whose name was not revealed by the police) revealed that the injured tourist initially came to buy wound care supplies. However, due to the severity of the bleeding, the staff contacted rescue services.
Using a translation app, authorities learned that the victim, reportedly intoxicated, had jokingly interacted with another group, which escalated into violence when one individual stabbed him.
Initially, Pattaya police recorded evidence and advised the victim to formally file a complaint. Investigators are reviewing witness accounts and CCTV footage to identify the attacker and determine the cause of the incident.
