Over the New Year holiday Pol. Gen. Prachuap Wongsuk, the Deputy National Police Chief, personally visited Chonburi to oversee crime prevention, public safety, and traffic management measures for the New Year 2025 celebrations.
Pol. Gen. Prachuap emphasized strict adherence to guidelines issued by the Royal Thai Police, aligned with government policies to enhance public safety and reduce road accidents during the holiday season.
Authorities conducted inspections along Pattaya Beach, collaborating with local administration, marine departments, rescue units, and private sector representatives to ensure tourist safety. Public awareness campaigns were also launched to encourage vigilance and crime prevention.
In the jurisdiction of Region 2 Provincial Police, officers intensified operations during a 10-day safety period from December 27th, 2024, to January 5th, 2025. This effort included 126 crime prevention checkpoints and 99 roadblocks, with 1,942 personnel on duty.
According to Pol. Gen Prachuap Pattaya Countdown 2025, held across 18,000 square meters of Pattaya Beach from Hard Rock Hotel to Nipa Lodge Intersection, was a massive success and there were no major safety incidents, despite an estimated crowd of hundreds of thousands on and around Pattaya Beach during the event. Over a thousand police officers and relevant agencies patrolled the event to ensure public safety.
