Sattahip Van Drivers Clash Over Passengers, One Person Injured

Van drivers in Sattahip clashed over a passenger dispute in front of officials yesterday, leaving one person injured.

On December 28th, police received a report of an assault at a public van terminal in the Sattahip district, Chonburi province. Authorities and rescue workers rushed to the scene.

There, authorities discovered the injured man, identified as Mr. Chatree Deekhuntod, with facial injuries and bleeding. Rescue workers transported him to Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital. The assault allegedly involved a group of over ten van drivers from the Chonburi-Rayong route, who reportedly attacked Mr. Chatree.

According to Mr. Prateep, another van driver and a friend of the victim, the suspects, whom he said were van drivers at the terminal, had chased Mr. Chatree and accused him of stealing passengers. The suspects later confronted and assaulted Mr. Chatree, causing his injuries. The altercation reportedly happened in front of many officials at the terminal.

Police are now investigating the incident and questioning both parties. Authorities are also reviewing the drivers’ licenses of those involved and may consider suspending or revoking their licenses.
