Pattaya —
A heavily intoxicated foreign woman allegedly caused a disturbance at a Pattaya hotel after attempting to engage in inappropriate public behavior on a sofa with her foreign partner.
The incident occurred around 3:06 AM on December 25th at a hotel on Beach Road, Pattaya. The woman, later publicly identified by international media as Jude, British, 42, from Plymouth, Devon, was seen attempting to escape from the scene and yelling, with a hotel staff member following her.
A hotel employee explained to The Pattaya News reporters that before the incident, the woman had allegedly attempted to engage in sexual activity with another foreign man on a public sofa. The pair then allegedly broke a glass table following the initial sofa situation.
When the hotel staff tried to stop the two, the woman allegedly fled the scene. Concerned citizens and a hotel porter managed to help restrain her and hand her over to the authorities to calm down. Meanwhile, the unidentified other man involved remained at large and had fled the scene.
The woman appeared heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident. Police advised the hotel staff to file a report for the damage, and once the tourist recovered, she would be asked to compensate. The hotel added that the two were not guests at the establishment and had come in drunk from outside.
The hotel was believed to be planning to discuss compensation for the broken furniture with Jude and to reach a financial settlement but it was unclear what further legal charges she could possibly face.
