Pattaya City has received three prestigious beach management certifications for safety, cleanliness, and environmental friendliness for tourists.
On December 22nd, Pattaya Mayor Mr. Poramase Ngampicheat announced that Pattaya has previously applied for ISO 13009 certification, which evaluates beach management standards. This international standard focuses on making sure that beaches are safe, clean, and environmentally friendly.
The certification process, which takes place from April to December 2024, is conducted by the Thai National Science and Technology Development Agency and the Tourism Department. After the evaluation, Pattaya was awarded three certifications. These include:
- Certification for natural tourism destinations, especially for beaches with tourism management, which received a “Very Good” rating.
- Certification for ISO 13009:2015 Beach Operations (Type Ncd), which was certified at Level 2.
- Certification for Thailand’s beach tourism quality standards.
Mr. Poramase mentioned that this certification is a proud achievement for Pattaya and its people. He added that there will be a public announcement to share the news of the certifications on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Pattaya City Hall.
